Funky lil lizards – Good relations with Ornbar
After some brief, superficial contact with their neighbours to their North, the Haeinsu decided to walk a road well-known. Chosing a friendly, open-armed approach they managed to establish tentative, then good relations.
Here’s what happened shorty after the Ornbar and Palanteinc met for the first time.
People of Palanteinc: On a warm summer day, three representatives of the Haeisu from Palanteinc seek to enter the city of Ornbass. They are young and old, male and female, and each carries a necklace adorned with jade, signifying their status. With them are 12 more people, carrying supplies and, transported by six of them and hidden away under a massive, heavy clay jar - a gift. Altogether, their command of the Ornbar' language is sufficient enough to make their point. Our hands are reaching! The people of Palanteinc greet you. On this day, if you will let us, we wish to establish good relations with our prosperous and blessed neighbors. For one of your temples, we have brought you a gift. We see you worship a god of whom we do not know. His children are cared for by you and you gift them houses. We are fortunate to have such noble neighbours. The jar is set down carefully. Under it is a finely crafted statue of a lizard made out of clay, but with an inset pattern of scales crafted from jade. The statue is as long as a grown adult is tall. Theocracy of Ornbar: The Council of Clergy though usually at its own throat is able to control its bickering for a time and invites the representatives to a small feast of Bread, Fruits, and Quail along with a hearty helping of various Fruit Wines which while the Orthodox members of the council do not accept its inventor as a Prophet they still partake in the substance itself. The gifted statue is taken by several members of the lower clergy to the largest temple in Ornbass where it is carefully placed in the courtyard drawing the attention of several of the sacred lizards living there who proceed to climb on top of it.
News of an oncoming gathering in the name of peace and friendly competitiveness is well received with the Haensiu and they elect their wisest woman to go and give a speech. As well as sending their strongest and most nimble to compete as an athlete. The thought of crossing *actual* weapons with another tribe does not sit well with the people though and, after an official gathering, is abolished. The Haensiu will not compete in such manner.
The second city
This new era also saw the establishment of our second city; a prosperous city to keep the goats safe – Gri-Atriiu (lit.: safe goats). To celebrate the setting of the last stone in the Meeting Hall, a week-long celebration was held. To the surprise of the Haeinsu, their long-time neighbors paid no interest. Instead, the Ankarsk sent an official envoy.
The Ankarsk responded to the Palanteinc invitation.
The Ankarsk: The Ankarsk a pleased to hear of such an invitation and the Daughter of Isra, personally comes to see those festivities for herself. With a small entourage of Elite Guards and bringing gifts of delicacy and beauty with her.
